Born in Sao Paulo Brazil in a community fully integrated with Middle Eastern Culture, she started to dance at the age of 8 years old. Encouraged by her two professional dancing sisters, Serena began with Ballet and Modern dance and of course her home-grown tradition, the Brazilian Samba.
learnt with her sisters and all the top teachers and dancers,
Serena became one of the youngest professional dancers in
the whole of Brazil at the age of fifteen, and was performing
nightly in many of the top clubs and restaurants and was
in constant demand as the light of many functions and weddings.
In 1996, Serena was spotted by Hossam Ramzy,
the world's leading Egyptian dance teacher, percussionist,
composer and world music artist who invited her to join
his troupe of dancers and featured her on his CD covers
and on stage. It was only a matter of a few months when
Serena became Hossam's partner in dance and life. They have
been married since 1997.
